Hi, I'm Kristen!
A lawyer, entrepreneur, Pure Barre fitness studio owner, writer, speaker, and a forever big thinker and practical dreamer excited to help you design and realize your dream life. And, I know what it's like to be a driven go-getter, type-A personality who worked meticulously to have everything they thought would make them happy on paper, but deep down, still knew something was missing.
Eight years ago, I woke up. To outsiders, I probably didn't appear to be sleeping. I was a lawyer at a large regional firm in South Carolina, owned a cute bungalow home in Charleston, and had close relationships with family and friends. But, I was sleeping. I was under the assumption that life happened to me. I was achieving goals but goals that other people set for me. I was "succeeding" but under whose definition of success? I remember pulling into my driveway one night in my brand new car after a long day at the law firm thinking, "This is it? Is this what I worked so hard to achieve?" I was living my life on auto-pilot, and I didn't feel fulfilled.
Shortly after that night, a friend gave me a copy of Rhonda Byrne's book, "The Secret." Trust me—my internal monologue was rolling my eyes, too. I skeptically read it. The principle seemed simple—your thoughts become things. But the implications, if true, were immense. Almost overwhelming. My lawyer brain immediately disregarded it as a "woo woo self-help book." But, days after finishing the book, I couldn't stop thinking about it. What if I really did have the power to turn my thoughts into my reality?
So, I tested it. Before I went to bed, I wrote on a piece of paper, "I want a free cup of coffee." I folded the paper and put it on my nightstand. The next day, I had forgotten about the note. I woke up, had a busy morning at the law firm, and met a client for lunch. We finished up lunch and paid the bill. Right as we were about to walk out, it started pouring rain. We decided to wait it out a bit. Then, the waitress came to us and said, "Y'all can't go out in that rain! How about a free cup of coffee while you sit here and wait?" That very moment, my life changed. I woke up.

For the past eight years, I have discovered, studied, and implemented principles and techniques to design and create my dream life. I met and married the man of my dreams, Ryan. We moved to Denver, Colorado. I landed my absolute dream legal job working for Jackson Lewis law firm, one of the nation's largest management-side employment law firms, specializing in workplace training. My legal work no longer felt monotonous, but I was now excited to help clients in a proactive, positive way. Eventually, my law firm even agreed to allow me to work a flexible schedule so that I could pursue other personal goals outside of my law practice. So, in 2017, I opened a Pure Barre studio in Lakewood, Colorado. As an entrepreneur, I can help bring joy and wellness to my clients and also employ other people. Every day is not perfect, but every day I am pursuing and realizing my dreams and am expressing myself in my most authentic way. Today, I feel fulfilled.
Now, as a reformed skeptic, I want to share what I have learned with you. Throughout my journey, I have read hundreds of books, had the guidance of amazing mentors, received hundreds of hours of coaching, and have attended life-changing conferences throughout the United States. But, that type of study and work was time-consuming and came at a high financial cost.
My passion and goal is to bring all of my knowledge, experience and tools to you in a practical, affordable, and relatable way. Life's too short and too precious to live on auto-pilot. Take the wheel. Deliberately create your life. I'd love to help you.
xo,
Kristen
